Corey (aka Corky) Johnson

Marital status: Married
Children: 5
What's Up?: Still working and commuting everyday from SE Denver to Colorado Springs for the past 22 years.
Interests?: In order of preference: golf, fly fishing, bird hunting, road biking, wine with dinner, gin'n'tonic or gin martini before dinner, whiskey with an occasional cigar, downhill skiing, Denver Bronco fan (season ticket holder since 1977) and power hiking everyday in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs during lunchtime plus the Manitou Springs Incline every Tuesday.
Occupation? (or former occupation): Principal Engineer, remember the famous quote in the 1967 movie "The Graduate", I have been working in the "plastics" manufacturing industry for 46 years for both custom and proprietary plastics injection molding companies in Lakewood, Akron, Ohio (2 years), Boulder, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs.
Memories from High School: Coach Stapp's grueling workouts during wrestling practice. Football practice tackling drills that knocked my head off. Baseball was my dream sport but Coach Proctor thought differently!
More WRHS Memories ... : So many memories that should remain forgotten but I do recall scattering when the police arrived at a "woodsy" in Golden Gate State Park, a "beer bottle littering citation" in Edgewater with a few of my fellow classmates while trying to crash a post game rally at Jefferson High and someone who will remain nameless that "pressed a ham" on the window at White Spot, just a few of the memories worth noting!
Higher Ed? Military? First Job? Travels?: BS Mechanical Engineering and BS Business (Marketing) from the University of Colorado. Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado. No military duty due to high draft lottery number. Extensive travel to Malaysia, Singapore and Japan for business and many personal trips to Hawaii and European countries, especially Italy, since Lorraine is 100% Italian descent.
What's on your bucket list?: Retirement, hopefully soon!
Tell us about your family: Two children from a previous marriage plus three step children and six step grandchildren from my current marriage to Lorraine (20 years).

What's Up?: With the closure of the Continental base in Denver, I now have to commute to New York for my job. I enjoy being home and taking care of my yard. I am totally over traveling after this many years of being gone. Divorced from my second husband and have no children.
Interests?: I enjoy entertaining at home. Being around friends and family is very important to me. Love the Denver scene; art, plays and fine dining. My biggest enjoyment is cruising to the southern Caribbean which I've done serveral times and plan to continue doing. Cruising is like a home away from home for 7 to 10 days at a time. You never eat at the wrong restaurant, make a wrong turn and don't have to pack and unpack....your clothes and life just float along with you.
Occupation? (or former occupation): Flight attendant with Continental Airlines for 35 years. Also for nine years my sister and I had a cable installation company and worked with the larger cable companies in Denver. After nine years it got bigger then we could handle, so we sold out. How nice to have a normal life back. I am glad we did it but never again.
Memories from High School: The night I ran away from home and got hung up on Cindy Cooke's back fence in my nightgown.........all because my parents would not let me go out and cruise 16th Street.
More WRHS Memories ... : This is to all of you who hung out at King's Food Host (which was my dad's restaurant) only to wreak havoc. I paid dearly for all this! I was not allowed to be in the restaurant when Officer Moore was there. You all know who you are!! lol The bottom line is I am glad you all had so much fun and my family and myself have had a lot of laughs over all those events that went on at King's. Plus it brought in good money. lol

Memories from High School: "Seniors Are You Listening!!" I will never forget that voice over the intercom. And of course pep assemblies (that seemed instilled with much more pride and excitement than we see in schools today). Or is that just my age showing?? Going to all the sporting events including tennis, gymnastics, basketball, track and football. Being a part of the first glimmer of girl's sports in schools.
More WRHS Memories ... : Two(to remain anonymous), friends skinny-dipping late at night in a pool in the Applewood area.
