What's Up?: I have lived in Colorado Springs since the late 70's when my late husband (Bill Beggs, WRHS class of '66) and I moved here from Fort Collins where he attended Vet School. We had three kids together and were married for almost 27 years when he died. My kids are now 27, 29, and 31. My girls live here, and my son is in Fort Collins, so I see them a lot. I am now remarried to a wonderful man (named Bill!), and I have a great life. I am a retired teacher--I taught elementary school at Wilmore Davis in Wheat Ridge (same school I attended as a kid!),then in Fort Collins, and most recently, here in Colorado Springs.
Interests?: Since my husband and I are both retired, we love to travel, golf, and spend lots of time with our friends and family. We have 4 grandkids, and another on the way, so we do a lot with all of them. I also love to play bridge, read, and hike.
Occupation? (or former occupation): A teacher. I also did a lot to help my late husband when he had two Vet practices.
Memories from High School: The basketball games. The football games. And the barn dances!
More WRHS Memories ... : I wonder how in the world Carole Eckland and I got a hold of the Denver Beer? Seems we drank it in the dirt parking lot next to that Ford dealership on 38th and Wadsworth. I think Joyce Holmes and someone else was with us, too! Carole's ole' Edsel sure got us around!! |

Children: | 2 |
What's Up?: I married classmate Laurie Parker in 1969, studied at CU, U of Toronto, and UC Berkeley (PhD in Mechanical Engineering), and we have two sons both earned graduate degrees from Stanford: David (mechanical engineering) and Eric (applied physics). We did the dual career path for many years, then started our family as the clock was running out, but we have really enjoyed our path - never a dull moment! We might even live long enough to be grandparents.
Interests?: We are kind of outdoorsy/backpacky people who also like the arts, sciences, literature and music. We have done a fair amount of hiking, sailing, and skiing, and recently scuba, hunting & fishing, rafting & canoeing with the boys. If our aging bodies and minds allow, we will probably keep trying something new as long as we live. I was Scoutmaster for several years while both boys were active in Scouts (both earned Eagle!), then I got really interested in astronomy and flying planes. I have continued playing Trombone, currently in the Denver Concert Band and a brass quintet (that is me at the right in the photo of the Columbine Brass).
Occupation? (or former occupation): Still working as a Mechanical Engineer and number cruncher, specializing in analysis and mathematical modeling of the failure of engineering materials. I spent almost a decade as a 'Failure' at Failure Analysis Associates, Inc. where I investigated a number of accidents and failures, including the breakup of the external tank of the Challenger Space Shuttle. For the last 30 years I have run my own engineering consulting firm and have done mainly research on degradation of materials for clients in several countries.
Memories from High School: I have many good memories, but a favorite is playing in the WRHS Symphonic Band under Larry Wallace. That was my best musical experience ever, and a great bunch of people.
More WRHS Memories ... : How about the guys who dressed up in tutus and danced ballet for the WRHS variety show? |

What's Up?: I have been married to classmate Ernie Eason since 1969. We have two sons, David and Eric, who both graduated from CU and Stanford University. Over the last 50 years I have earned 3 college degrees: in Anthropology, in Museum Studies, and an MBA; worked for museums, non-profits, city government, and the family business; lived in Boulder, Toronto, the San Francisco Bay area, Phoenix, and again in Boulder; and raised kids while I balanced bookkeeping and homeschooling.
Interests?: When the boys were younger Ernie and I were involved in Scouting and doing lots of outdoors activities: camping, hiking, scuba diving, skiing, canoeing, sailing. My hobby is watercolor painting, and now that the nest is empty, I am gardening, reading science fiction, and remodeling our house.
Occupation? (or former occupation): I am the entire administrative staff for Ernie's engineering consulting firm, Modeling & Computing Services. I also serve on the Board of our small water district.
Memories from High School: The Senior Class Prank in response to Mrs. Nolan's almost daily reminders to \\\"SENIORS, WAKE UP!\\\" Although the alarm clocks did disrupt classes for a few minutes, the administration made more noise for a much longer time opening all of the lockers to remove the clocks! |
