What's Up?: I'm still working part time and need to live within my budget. So far, that hasn't happened, thus I'm still at it. The part time job is very flexible and it's fun.
Interests?: I've been a Volunteer Victim Advocate for the Westminster Police Department for over 17 years. I volunteer for the PD in many other capacities, i.e., Citizens on Patrol and the Westminster Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. I also volunteer for the Broomfield Food Bank and Safe Harbor Lab Rescue. In 2009, I bought an old truck and a new 5th wheel. I love to go camping in the mountains where I look for animals and fish...catch/release.
Occupation? (or former occupation): I worked for 30+ years at Mountain Bell, US West, then retired from Quest when Joe Nacchio took over, before he ran it into the ground. I was fortunate to finally finish the degree I started at CSU/CU, at Regis University on the company's dime. I worked as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and had responsibility for several people in Iran...got them out just in time, way back when.
Memories from High School: When Vikki Porter smuggled in the spiked watermelon to the Senior Picnic. I also loved being in drill team and going to all of the games and the barns. I also loved the bus rides home and singing "Honor to ol' WR High", timing it so we hit the bump in the parking lot at the right part in the song.
More WRHS Memories ... : Ditching school with Gary Hamilton and not getting caught until my mom found one of the notes where I had tried to copy her signature on my excuse. Spending time with Max Williams and Rusty West.
Higher Ed? Military? First Job? Travels?: Graduated from Regis University in 1994 with a BA in Human Resource Management. My first job was at Weiss Bakery on Carr when in high school...then on to the snack bar at the Wadsworth Drive-In. I've been fortunate to travel to many places. My favorites are the Czech Republic, Slovakia (where I found relatives), Poland (wandering around Cracow by myself for 5 days) and Russia. I can't wait to return.
What's on your bucket list?: Oh, where to start?? Returning to Slovakia and spending more time with my newly found relatives. A safari, seeing the Northern Lights, taking in the Sand Hill Crane migration, finding more bears in the wild, getting my basement and garage cleaned out.
Tell us about your family: Was married/divorced twice..."the first 2 husbands were just practice." I live with my three rescue dogs: Chuy, Petey and Eddie and a parakeet named Bird-Bird. My sister still lives in Wheat Ridge. |
