Really like the new site...fun to see what so many classmates are up to!  Couldn't make the social last week...my husband's  50th reunion was at the same time (South HS)...what are the chances?? We live in Ridgway, CO, but get to Denver frequently to see my 2 year old grand daughter (& her parents of course). My youngest daughter lives in Denver also, and we have one daughter who lives in Perth, Australia.   We have traveled to Europe twice with Doug Kline and his wife, Pam & I got a surprise visit from Christy Patrick when she was on one of her camping adventures to our area of Colorado! I play Words with Friends with Rene Oya, but those are about the only high school contacts I have these days. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me...227E

What's Up?: Hi Everyone! How fast the years have gone. I'm living the life of leisure in Largo, Florida.
Interests?: I've dabbled in a lot over the years...organizing horse shows, car shows, air shows, a fan club for a singer; writing (but not published); to name a few. Still heavily involved in genealogy and DNA testing. Love living on the Gulf in glorious weather.
Occupation? (or former occupation): I was a computer programmer and project manager. Most of the time was spent at Security Life of Denver (an ING company) and Computer Science Corp (CSC). CSC laid me off at age 60 and hired my replacement in India, so I slid into retirement. Work was always in my way anyway.
Memories from High School: I spent my high school years riding and showing horses and didn't do many WR activities. I wish I had gone to Prom. Were there a lot of people who didn't go to Prom? Maybe someday we could have an alumni prom :-)
More WRHS Memories ... : I sat in front of Freddie in one of my classes and remember him coming in on crutches on Monday after playing the previous Friday game on an ankle he had broken in practice the previous week. It was the last time I remember talking to him. He was special.

July 2016 UPDATE:

I now live in Loveland. Married for 35 years and have 1 Grand Daughter.

I hung out with Cleve Hammond and Andy and Bobby Pietrafeso all through

High School. Cleve sent me an email and said I was one of the missing.

Not so. --Gary
What's Up?: I took several college courses over many years and finally got a bachelors for my efforts. We just had our 26th anniversary. Our twins (boy and girl) are 16 and will be Seniors next year at Winter Springs High School, Winter Springs, Florida (northeast of Orlando about 20 miles). I stayed in Colorado (Thornton) until we moved to Florida in April of 2003 for my work. I have been a service technician on computerized machines for the past 33 years. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. The hurricanes can be a real pain but I can wear shorts almost every day of the year. We seem to get along with the heat and humidity much better than we did with the cold and snow. I still stay in touch with Cleve Hammond, Andy Pietrafeso and Jack Chamberlin via e-mail on a weekly basis.
More WRHS Memories ... : I still can\'t believe it\'s been 40 years. I was almost in the Class of \'68 because Cleve and I wouldn\'t go to class every day!

Jim Overholt

What's Up?: I just turned 58 and I am one year from retiring as an Administrative Law Judge with the Industrial Commission of Arizona. I have been on the bench for 26 years. 27 years of listening to Lawyers ramble on and on will be more than enough for me.
Interests?: I am still working out with the weights and I enjoy playing and hiking with my black lab "Star". I have a wonderful wife "Lee" and we have one son "Tom" who will be 23 in December.
Memories from High School: "Iwo Jima" time in 10th grade gym class. Senior Doug Jackson was the one that came up with this fun activity.

Rene Oya

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Comment: Looking forward to reconnecting at the reunion!
What's Up?: Retired & devoting time to different interests and caring for my grandsons two days a week.
Interests?: Hiking, snowshoeing, knitting, reading, traveling. Most importantly and at the top of my list, caring for my two grandsons (4 years; 10 months) every week.
Occupation? (or former occupation): After graduating from Colorado College, I taught high school English in CO Springs. After four years, I attended UNC in Greeley and received an MA in counseling. The rest of my full time career was in education, either as a school counselor or in Student Affairs as a coordinator of various programs. After I retired from education, I was a barista at Starbucks and then worked part time at two different bookstores. Most recently I worked at Savory Spice Shop in Ft Collins. All of my occupations gave me the opportunity to be with people and combine my personal interests with my job.
Memories from High School: Farmer's Barns.

Taking a school bus skiing and returning to a WRHS basketball game.

Exchange trip to Roslyn Heights, NY.

Taking the SAT the morning Wheat Ridge was playing in their first State football game.
More WRHS Memories ... : Drill team and pep club.

Riding to school everyday with special friends.

Frau and her stories of Lichtenstein.

High School was just a lot of fun!
Higher Ed? Military? First Job? Travels?: Bachelor's degree: Colorado College;

Master's Degree: Univ of Northern CO.

Recently traveled to Italy with former colleagues. I fell in love with Tuscany!
What's on your bucket list?: To be healthy enough to continue hiking and snowshoeing and being with friends.

Traveling to Alaska and maybe someday, Japan.
Tell us about your family: I have two children from a previous marriage. Tyler, 36, lives in Aurora with his wife and two boys. He is a project manager for Skyline Display & Design. Tanea, 32, lives in Berryton, KS with her partner and is in year two of owning her own organic farm. They are growing a variety of produce and raising pork.

I am married to Jim, a retired physical anthropologist professor.

We are both retired and navigating the ins/outs of both of us being at home.

Cherridah (Cherri) Pate (Simonson)

Marital status: Married
Children: 3
Comment: I haven't had much contact with any of my graduating class before getting in touch with the reunion planning group.  I quickly made a correction when I discovered that I was listed among the deceased.  And that turned up a few who contacted me.  I was thrilled to learn that Kerry Hada and Linda Wheeler are married.  And that Bower and Cleve remembered me.  I do hope it works out that Sam and I will be able to make a vacation trip to the Rockies and at least come for the picnic and school tour.  I'm trying to sell it as a family affair, to all our kids but not getting much traction.
What's Up?: Living in one of the most beautifully strange cities in the world. Life experience, work and related interests make for busy and full days. We would be completely retired if we didn't live in this $$ city.
Interests?: I have a great deal of concern for the human family. The future only looks bright when I reflect on life's origin, purpose and future prospects as expounded upon in the Bible.
Occupation? (or former occupation): After school, I worked at Villa National Bank in Villa Fontana until I figured out a few things out personally. I did not complete a degree before we started a family. I feel privileged to have been a stay at home mom until the kids were in school. Then I worked with Sam in our video system design and sales business.
Memories from High School: I wish I could more specific with names and events. I have very positive feelings and loved being with some of the same kids from 8th grade at the junior high through high school. I have a special fondness of being in debates with and against Rick Sewell and singing with Jack Cahill and Cindy Cooke, I'm not sure they continued on at the high school. Freddie Steinmark was always in my homeroom, perhaps it was alphabetical, but he always felt like a friend to me. My dad and I watched the games that Freddie and Bob played with relish. His illness made me an activist for a time. I have flirting memories with many like Bower Yousee, Cleve Hammond, Randy Choun and Kerry Hada. And uncontrollable laughter memories with Patty Jubrious, Polly Hoffner, Cindy Cooke and Jill Dunkley. Would love to have some input to refresh the details.
Higher Ed? Military? First Job? Travels?: We exhibited at international trade shows and ended up designing two network broadcast facilities in the Sacramento area. That relocated us to the west coast. Then we wanted our kids to experience something in life other than the material and commercial life that had come along quite easily. We moved north of NYC where Sam designed a video facility for the Watch Tower Educational Center, as a volunteer. We scaled back and lived simpler life in that beautiful part of New York. That decision opened the door for similar endeavors overseas, in The Netherlands, Japan, Brazil and extensive travel. We've slowed down when it comes to travel but are still very involved remotely with the volunteer educational work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
What's on your bucket list?: Coming to the 50th reunion. Sadly, when I reviewed the classmates who have died, it really is sobering to think they are gone while I still feel so full of life and wonder. This life can't be all there is when a tree or a tortoise can live so much longer.

Oh yes, the northern lights in Iceland and The Alaskan Wilderness.
Tell us about your family: Sam Pate and I met the day the first man walked on the moon. It was a giant step for mankind and for us. We have 3 grown ups and two grandchildren. We live two blocks away from the grandchildren and have placed a high value on being in their life not just while on vacation.
