Louise Maloy (Buck)

Marital status: Married
Children: 7
What's Up?: First-Thank you all who have worked so hard on this 50th Reunion!

Larry and I are retired, still living in Sandy, Utah and are thoroughly enjoying our kids and grand-kids!
Interests?: Family activities with Larry, our children and their families are the greatest fun! Also have done a lot of genealogy over the years, and found great family stories (& a few skeletons!!) We are also Scout leaders in our area.
Occupation? (or former occupation): I had a daycare business in my home for over 20 yrs., then worked at a Senior Cit. Center. Then worked part time as a Proctor for the U of U.

Loving retirement & going on walks and hikes.
Memories from High School: I loved being in the plays--especially "The Fantastiks"! Also LOVED the GREAT football & basketball games! AND our great BAND who played for all of them! Loved going with De Kroeckle & Cindy Burkholder to Central City to hear De's older brother play honkey-tonk in one of the "Saloons"!
More WRHS Memories ... : Ernie Eason faking out Mr. Manis in English when he actually didn't know the answer to a question! (Hard to believe-I know!) He'd give some convoluted answer and Mr. Manis would believe him! When I'd turn around shaking my head, he'd grin like the Cheshire Cat!
Higher Ed? Military? First Job? Travels?: To me, our best 2 trips were- a tour of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, where many of our ancestors came from; and Thailand with its ethereal beauty.
What's on your bucket list?: Looking forward to this re-union since I couldn't come last time! See you there!
Tell us about your family: I married Larry Maloy in 1969. We had our first baby, and Larry went to Viet Nam. (Got a purple heart.) Moved to Utah about 35 years ago. Total-7 kids, and now have-yes-23 grands (biologic, adopted and step-grandkids!)

Carol March (Eckland)

Marital status: Married
Children: 3
What's Up?: I've been in Boulder for a long time. I met my husband in the dorm in 1967 and we are celebrating our 45th in August. We have 3 kids, ages 35, 30 & 27. We owned a printing company for 20 years in Boulder and after we sold it, I went back to CU to (finally) get my degree. I finished with a business major and got my masters in tax. I've been a CPA specializing in small business & tax preparation for 19 years and I work for myself. My husband and daughter work for our business too.
Interests?: We enjoy our kids and like to go to Cape Cod (Massachusetts) and we enjoy lots that Boulder has to offer. Love going to Rockies games and of course love the Broncos.
Occupation? (or former occupation): CPA - late bloomer - went back to CU and got my degree in my mid-40's! Never too old to reinvent yourself.
Memories from High School: My Edsel burning up in the parking lot at the end of senior year & the best part was that Patti Jubrias and I were ditching school (there was probably someone else with us, like maybe Joyce Holmes.) When I got to choir, Mr. Dalton had the class sing "there'll be a hot time in the old town tonight." Parents not happy - not easy to find a replacement seat for an Edsel! Also, football games, drill team, deafening basketball games in the gym, the cheerleaders doing their fabulous gymnastics down the length of the gym floor. I loved it all - especially my girlfriends - Polly, Judy R, Joyce, Patti, Marla, Anne L. to name just a few!

Lastly, being a member of the singing group The Sodbusters - yes we really did exist!! You other members know who you are!
More WRHS Memories ... : Dare I say drinking beer? Going to Coors Brewery with our pathetically obvious fake id's?

All the teachers and coaches - sitting next to Candy in Mr. Mahaffey's French class. We weren't that close in high school, but we went to CU together, lived in the same dorm complex and became very close friends for the next 40 years.

But how lucky were we all????
Tell us about your family: Son & daughter live in Denver, our youngest daughter lives in Boulder married to a great guy from New Zealand - she is back at CU getting her masters in tax and studying for CPA exam. She works for me part time. No grandchildren yet.

Bobbi Martin (Arms)

Marital status: Divorced
Children: 2
Comment:
What's Up?: I am divorced and have two sons, 23 and 20. One lives in the Dallas area with his wife. They are expecting my first grandaughter in December. My youngest son is attending college in Montana. After summer school ends I will be flying to Montana to visit my son. I then head to Ireland for three weeks. So I will miss the reunion. I will try for the next one. I was just in Colorado over Memorial Day weekend visiting my brother who lives in Estes. Sure miss the mountains! My philosophy for life is to Live, Laugh, and Love. Life is good and I have been very blessed. I wish you all well and lots of fun at the reunion. Bobbi Arms Martin
Interests?: I like to play golf, quilt - actually it is faster to list what I don't like. Tennis, bike riding, roller blading and sailing. It is too bad I get seasick since I live only 9 miles from the ocean! Wildlife conservation and helping to save our planet are my big hot issues.
Occupation? (or former occupation): I am an elementary RSP, special education, teacher. The kids are great, but the legal aspect of the job is not fun. Before that I owned a travel agency. I like teaching better than owning a business!
Memories from High School: Senior prom and going to Garden of the Gods afterwards.
More WRHS Memories ... : I have lots of stories about people, but they did not go to Wheat Ridge HS. :)

Occupation? (or former occupation): Jackie of all trades! I've been a bank teller, a grocery clerk, a pharmacy technician and a telephone installer (back in the old days when you had to climb poles and all that jazz!) For the last several years I've been self-employed with my husband, currently selling outdoor waterfalls.
Memories from High School: Drill Team was fun. GRADUATION was great!
More WRHS Memories ... : I won't tell on you if you won't tell on me!

Occupation? (or former occupation): Graduated in \\\'71 from the University of Colorado, Boulder with an English major and a Biology minor. Go figure.

Taught in private schools on the East and West Coasts until returning to Denver to work at the Rocky Mountain News with the Scripps Company, a wonderful employer for 20 years.
Memories from High School: Mr. Alden was such a great adviser with the yearbook. A heart-felt thanks to all who worked on the \\\"Agrarian\\\" some 50 years ago.

The plays were fun to be in and led to 35 more, as a hobby.

Wheat Ridge High had outstanding academics and wonderful extra-curricular activities in 1967--but you all knew that!
More WRHS Memories ... : Hopping the fence with Scott Biddinger over at the white \\\"Tower of Memories\\\" across from Wheat Ridge High one night. Trying to escape the German Shepherd guard dogs, we stumbled right into a cattail swamp.

Life is full and I have an outreach to children and college students and that keeps me occupied and happy.

What's Up?: It seems like a long time since graduation. Got a BFA in 71 and never used it, then 3 other degrees. I've been happily married since 1976. Have a 21 year old son who is finishing up a degree in jewelry. Still working and don't want to retire anytime soon.
Interests?: Bred and raised dogs for 25 years. Enjoy making jewelry. Still draw and do art, just not as much as I once did.
Occupation? (or former occupation): Project Management in Construction and IT for the past 30 years.
Memories from High School: The championships, JCL, Joe Wetherbee, driving my 56 Chevy and hanging out with Larry Elliot, Bob Ray, Tim Schwartz, and Dave Snow after the games.

Claudia Miller (Smaldone)

Bob Mitchell

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
What's Up?: Graduated from Univ. of Texas (71) and Baylor Dental School (74). Love practicing Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. Enjoy traveling with my family.
Memories from High School: I moved the middle of my sophomore year from sunny California, where I was Class President, to WR in the dead of winter and I did not know a single person. I was miserable at first but I quickly made friends with so many great WR classmates. One of my best memories was of Donnie Stathis who befriended me immediately and since we were neighbors and I did not have a car (nor any idea how to drive in the snow and ice!), he picked me up in his truck before school everyday and we shared a lot of fun stories. I have great memories of my teammates in football and track when we won State Championships in both. This was no doubt due to the great coaching by Coach Red Coats and Coach Don Cooper who pushed us to the limits to be the best we could be because they believed in us. I will always have the utmost respect for both of them and I\\\'m proud to have known such strong and fair role models.
Tell us about your family: Married to Dr. Honor Franklin for 39 years. We have two children. A son Hahn,28, in commercial real estate and a daughter, Sullivan,25, who is in advertising.
