Aurora CO Married 2 Still married to the same great guy for 36 years! We have no grandchildren but that seems to bother us more than our kids. Neither one have yet to get married or seem to be in any rush to do so. Number of children: 2 Travel and Golf I promised my husband I'd work until I was 60. I must be crazy but since I only work 3 days a week (Tues, Wed & Thur) it isn't so bad. I've worked for State Farm for the last 8 years and having the days off that I do it gives us a lot more time to travel. Youth! But being over 50 isn't so bad! Older and wiser as they say. 2016-07-02 18:09:27

Las Vegas NV Married Married for 25 years come February. My husband has served as police chief in St. Joseph, MO and Reno, NV and has worked in Sudan and Afghanistan, running police training there. He also teaches college courses online. I trained my St. Bernard to be a therapy dog and we made weekly visits to the hospital, cheering up cancer patients and children. I now have a St. Bernard puppy and a Great Pyrenees puppy and I hope to train them in the same manner. A lifelong learner, I hold bachelor and master degrees from CU, a master in public administration from Harvard's Kennedy School and a law degree from the University of California, Davis. After a long career as a journalist at the Vail Trail, the Boulder Daily Camera and the Detroit News, I went to law school when many newspapers started closing their doors. I worked for a short time in private practice, then served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada for about 8 years before being appointed as a federal administrative law judge and moving to Las Vegas, where I continue to work in that capacity. My family moved to Boulder the summer before our senior year when the IBM plant opened there. Although my high school diploma is from Fairview High School, my heart always belonged to Wheat Ridge High. 2015-12-06 17:53:14

Colorado Springs CO Single Serving the "Greatest Generation" as an activity director these last 20 years and writing a travel article for a magazine. Reading, theater, classical music, traveling and hanging out in San Diego, CA whenever I can. Yes- this body still floats. Graduated in '71 from the University of Colorado, Boulder with an English major and a Biology minor. Go figure. Taught in private schools on the East and West Coasts until returning to Denver to work at the Rocky Mountain News with the Scripps Company, a wonderful employer for 20 years. Mr. Alden was such a great adviser with the yearbook. A heart-felt thanks to all who worked on the "Agrarian" some 50 years ago. The plays were fun to be in and led to 35 more, as a hobby. Wheat Ridge High had outstanding academics and wonderful extra-curricular activities in 1967--but you all knew that! Hopping the fence with Scott Biddinger over at the white "Tower of Memories" across from Wheat Ridge High one night. GA Single 1 Enjoying life the best one could, under the circumstances of what I vaguely see in my rear view mirror. The late 60's were rough to say the least, the best came last...retired 20 yrs ago! My horse Cheyenne a APHA wonder with a lot of spash, and sweet as they come. My boat, 43' sedan w/fly bridge, I love the water, she's named "disappearing blues . . " how appropriate! LOL Contractor (Commercial) in Chicago & Denver areas, and Investor in real estate! Graduation Day! Had a secret crush back in 67' on, Linda Wheeler, she was so cute in those bibs...she still is. . love you girl! (I got brave in my old age!) lol 2015-09-05 22:48:38
My parents moved more than the one's that were in the Military, I attended Glenbard West, in Glen Ellyn, IL, (fine school) then we moved to Colorado in 65' and I finished my  Sophmore year at Lakewood, CO  (Tigers) not my favorite! lol Then I finished my high school years at Wheatridge Sr. H.S.  Go Farmers!   I must have brought them good luck, they took state in Football that year in 1967!    If I thought 3 high schools were tough, soon I enlisted in the Marine Corps and found myself in Vietnam 68-69 that was a real eye opener. . !   It sure didn't turn out like a bed of roses, but in later years, I was blessed and look upon the hard times as a learning experience, I'm still licking my wounds. . .! Cornville AZ Having lived in Las Vegas, NV since graduation from dental school, my wife and I have moved to Cornville, AZ. The decision behind the move was to be in a position to care for my father-in-law now that he is showing the signs of his age. I'm still practicing dentistry but not at the pace I had been. I still love to snow and water ski. Maybe now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I can get away more often to enjoy them. Unfortunately, my wife has developed thin blood over the years and she'd be happier sitting in the lodge with a good book. I don't run like I used to but still have dreams of setting a new PR someday. One nice thing is that I'm in an older age category and there's not so much competition. Cornville is good for gardening and being outside and not too far from Sedona, AZ. which has a lot of red rocks. It does get hot during the summer but not at all like Phoenix or Las Vegas. There's a creek on the property and it runs year-round (quite a novelty in the desert). I'm still doing the tooth thing after more than 33 years. Even if I could retire, which I can't, I imagine I will keep doing dentistry well past the time I can retire. Almost all of the bad memories must have long ago been forgotten. I only seem to remember images of the things we did back then. Maybe I can add some later on as I have time to think about this one. Mike Covillo once had a crush on Cher. 2015-07-29 22:18:40

Keller TX Single I recently had ankle replacement surgery and have been recovering from that. I was blessed to have found a wonderful surgeon who knew how to do this surgery. This is a fairly new surgery (there are only three doctors in the DFW who do ankle replacements). So far, so good! I should start physical therapy on it in a week or two. The replacement is made of titanium, so ya'll can start refering to me as The Bionic Woman. My Maltese named Spencer, my long haired chihuahua named Parker and my tuxedo cat named Frankie. We are one happy family! Flight Attendant for 35 years. I took an "early" retirement in 2005 when Delta Airlines closed our DFW base. Making all the football posters to hang in the halls before the games. I also loved the Barns after the games. Those were some fun times! Linda Satre and I papered Bill Beggs house one night. He only lived a couple of houses away from her. Unfortunately, it had snowed and we left all our tracks leading to and from his house. Duh! 2014-05-18 12:37:00
Sandi Glasscock was my best friend in high school.  She and I both moved to Applewood from Texas at the same time.  We only lived four houses away.  That was a perfect match for a best friend.  We lost contact shortly after graduating.  I had gone to a Kansas City Chief/ San Diego Chargers game in San Diego back in the early 70's.  I was walking through the lobby of the hotel before the game.  Sandi and I ran right into each other!  She was there for the same game.  I think fate played a big hand in that one.  We managed to lose touch again.  We reconnected at the WRHS 25 year reunion.  Come to find out we had both moved back to the DFW area and now only live about five miles away.  We still keep in touch.  Guess we were meant to be friends forever! Billings MT Married 1 2014-02-27 21:04:23
Hi everyone, This is Steve Hart, remember me? I was one of the fastest sprinters in the state in 1967. Now I can walk across the street, but dare not try to run! But I have a great story to tell about my experience as a junior with y’all. You may have been there when in the spring of 1966 this sprinter broke a record that was held since the 50’s by our illustrious dean of boys, Harry Narcisian. In 1965 dear Wade Dabney tied Harry’s record, but then I broke it by 0.1 seconds— I ran 100 yards in 9.9 (remember yards?). I ran up to Mr. Cooper and said, “Coach, I broke 10 seconds!” His reply has stuck with me all these years and has carried me through many experiences: “Steve, I am happy for you, but you have only done it once—now prove yourself.” He then walked away. In 1967 I duplicated that record, then within a couple of years another young man broke my record—so much for pride!!!! Bobbie Moore, I read your column on the webpage and had to laugh a bit because we never had a chance to prove if you could beat me twice—sorry, bud! Maybe someday we can meet and race our walkers.

But that is old history and you all may want to know what I eventually did. In 1972 I married a great girl from Montana. We met at a Young Life Camp in Nathrop, Colorado. We dated for a couple of years, then married. In 1975 our son Dave was born. He had a genetic disease, cystic fibrosis. He was a great kid and he was with us for 16 years. We loved him and enjoyed so many of his traits. He was a follower of Jesus, and when his condition got worse as a teenager, he wanted so badly to leave his weak body behind and be in Heaven with Jesus. That happened in June 1991. Kris and I have now been married 41+ years, living most of that time in Billings MT. God has been so good to us. In 1980 I met some men who had an oil leasing business that was thriving. I got involved in that business, and worked as a field landman until 1997. At that time I was hired to do land work in an oil company and stayed there until I retired in 2008.

Before I retired, an important event took place at the beginning of 2007. I went with a team of 16 people to Tanzania, East Africa. We spent time teaching pastors and school children 9 days, then I traveled by bus to Zambia with a wonderful Tanzanian pastor. We spent 5 days there with friends. Also during the time in Tanzania, the director of a primary school asked me to find a volunteer English teacher who would come to his school for 1 year. Kris and I were not able to think of anyone; later we agreed, after much prayer, that I was the one to go. That was confirmed by many of our closest friends. So I retired in November of 2008, and I arranged to live in Babati, Tanzania, for 1 year. In addition to enjoying the children and their teachers, I spent time with several pastors in Babati, who invited me to their churches. I spoke to them, sang, played my guitar, and had a blast. I stayed for a year, and have gone back every year for shorter stays of from 3 months to 7 months. I love these people, whose lives are so difficult. I cry a lot for these folks, My dear wife comes to Tanzania to visit when she can. She is the best support I could ever have; our love is strengthened by frequent and deep communication.

More than anything else I want you all to know that my faith in Jesus has been tested and tried; I had to go back to “basics” of my faith to find out who I am and how I fit in this picture. My life verse from the Bible is in Ecclesiastes 5: 18-20. And another verse tells of my mission in the world: Colossians 2: 2-3. I know who I am in Jesus, and believe that I am doing what God called me to do many years ago in my Baptist church in Wheat Ridge. God bless you all very much. Brother Steve

I sure wish I could go back to the good ole days when life was much simpler; I truly miss the years back when we were in high school.  I do have to say, I have been truly blessed in my music career.  I have met some of my heros, Faron Young, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Paycheck, and fortunate enough to call them "Friends".  I played the "Grand Ole Opry Tours" for 11 years with Del Reeves & Jeanne Shepard.  I was Lead Guitarist for Johnny Paycheck for 3 years.  I was the last to record a duet with my best friend, Faron Young, and performed with so many greats like Conway Twitty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buck Owens (I was still in high school), Willie Nelson, and a bunch more.
There were some great times and some real low times, but I Love My Children, Grand Children, Great Grand Children, My Wife, My Family, and Friends.  I am loving life now, and all is good.
Hope you can help me find out where or what happened to Pete Maki.  Also, Brian Maki, Helmet B., Bobby Swartwood.
You can contact me anytime, day or night and give any of them my contact information.

Westminster CO Divorced 2013-08-03 12:10:31

What's Up?
I know what isn't up: I haven't traveled to all of the places yet to see; figured out why I have snakes in my finished basement; can't seem to find room to park even one car in a three-car garage or remember why I came into a room or what I came into that room for.

Interests?
I've been a volunteer Victim Advocate for the Westminster Police Department for the last 13 years. In this capacity, I am called to help people who have been victims of crimes such as homicide, burglary, sexual assault, robbery, battery, etc. or try to provide comfort to people as a result of structure fires, fatal vehicle accidents, suicides, DOAs, etc.

Occupation? (or former occupation)
I spent the majority of my worklife with Qwest (formerly Mountain Bell and US WEST Communications) as a Manager in Human Resources. During that time I finally finished my college degree (thanks to Qwest's $$) since I spent the first two years at CSU (1967-69) majoring in beer and boys.  I took early retirement from Qwest in 2001 and have just been playing at a variety of part-time jobs since then. I've been fortunate to travel to many parts of the world. My favorites have been Prague in the Czech Republic and Moscow, Russia.  Three summers ago I visited my paternal grandparents' little village in Slovakia where I found living relatives....a bucket list item completed!  In 2010 I bought an old truck and a new 5th wheel.  I'm enjoying camping in the mountains every chance I get.  I love to look for animals and fish the mountain streams.  I recently visited Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.

High School Memory?
There was a time two students (who shall forever remain anonymous) bought a six-pack of beer at a local liquor store and proceeded to drink the beer and cruise the circuit from the Scotchman to McDonald's to Tops with one of said unnamed students riding on the hood of the car, using her legs as windshield wipers. When her friend turned the corner, she fell off and cracked her head open, requiring a trip to Lutheran's emergency room.

Tell a Tale on Someone.
Vickie Porter brought a watermelon to the Senior Picnic. That, in itself, was no big deal. The fact that she had injected it with an entire bottle of vodka ended up to be a big deal.
